What about Covid?

While we will NOT be requiring campers or volunteers to have a Covid-19 vaccination, we will require a negative Covid test prior to camp (more info soon). Leading up to camp, our medical committee will be closely monitoring Montana and CDC guidelines.  Depending on the state of COVID infections in the state, the medical committee has created Plan A (green light), Plan B (yellow light), Plan C (red light). Plan A will be an overnight residential camp for 150 campers with minimal restrictions, Plan B will be an overnight residential camp for 150 campers but will require campers to remain exclusively with their cabin families, with at least masks required while indoors. Plan C will be 3 separate day camps similar to 2021 day camps, again held at Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp, in Helena and in Billings.

Why is MYDA not allowing
out-of-state registration before June 20th?

As a non-profit 503c3 organization we are bound by our Mission Statement and bylaws.

Our mission statement reads...

MYDA or Montana Youth Diabetes Alliance is a 501C3 organization that started in 2019 to fulfill the unmet needs of the Montana Type 1 diabetes community.

Our mission is to enrich the lives of youth with Type 1 Diabetes and their families while offering safe, fun, and educational opportunities through camps and other events. MYDA provides financial assistance for out-of-pocket expenses associated with self-management supplies and networking resources to navigate diabetes-related support systems.

While we as T1D's, Parents of T1D's and caretakes of T1D's, we would never want to say no to a T1D,

we have an obligation to the Montana Type 1 Diabetes Community.

We would still love to have your child at our camp and will treat them just as lovingly as any Montana child.

We hope you understand.
